The Faces of the Foreclosed

The Faces of the Foreclosed

The hottest issue for American home owners nowadays is loan modification foreclosure. The increase of homes getting foreclosed is climbing to an alarming rate. Just how bad is the situation? If you are part of the lucky people who were not directly hit by the economic crisis then it might be hard for you to understand how things started and how things are for those who are facing foreclosure. Here are the faces of these people and the gist of their stories. Knowing their stories is of course the best way for you to avoid going through the same things they went through.

I have handled so many cases on loan modification foreclosure from the families that I have helped. In this kind of field, you will encounter all sorts of stories. I was thoroughly shocked at some of the greedy and truly evil ways some credit card companies employ. There are some true cases of swindling that go unchecked and that the government should stop once and for all.

I have encountered some of the worst stories from the Latin American families. A lot of their stories are similar to the plight of the Lopez family.

Mr. and Mrs. Lopez just had their first baby and were planning on starting their family. They were looking for a good affordable house with a mortgage plan that would suit their meager income. As they were canvassing for their house, they were offered one that seemed like a really good deal. The person offering the contract seemed nice enough. He assured the Mr. and Mrs. Lopez that they had the option of refinancing when the interest rates would go to high. Of course this was done verbally. The problem is that the neither Mr. nor Mrs. Lopez were a hundred percent proficient in English. The fine print and legal jargon of the contract handed to them were too difficult for them to understand and the person offering them the contract new this. When I saw the clauses in the contract, I was flabbergasted. The numbers were simply ridiculous and unfair.

This is what has happened to a lot of families especially in Detroit, you are probably aware of the just how bad the economic crisis has hit that area but these are merely numbers without faces. Families like the Lopez's for example are taken advantaged of and are pressured to put their signature in contracts that they have not been able to read for themselves.

There are so many other young families that go to similar plights. Then there are also those large numbers of senior citizens who are also easy prey. These people have nothing left for them to rely on when their retirement and savings get swindled by outrageous lending schemes. Loan modification foreclosure is something that must be quickly addressed for the sake of these people.
